1. Chetan Gala Sinha, Social Entrepreneur:
Chetan Gala Sinha, born in the year 1959 in Mumbai. She is actually working to empower women. She is the founder and chairperson of Mann Deshi Mahila Sahkari Bank. This is one of the largest microfinance banks of Maharashtra.
The bank started in the bank working in 1997 and ran successfully by the woman sector of the society. Mann Deshi Bank also has a business school which trains the rural woman.
2. Ekta Kapoor, Balaji Telefilms
Ekta Kapoor, a woman who single-handedly founded and made Balaji Telefilms. She is the founder of Balaji Telefilms, creative head of Balaji Telefilms, producer, and director. Love her or hate her but you cannot ignore Balaji serials.
She has contributed some hit serials like “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki”, etc. Because of her ‘K’ series serials, housewives got a new source of entertainment and TV industry emerged with Saas-Bahu drama. 3. Kanika Tekriwal Co-Founder of JetSetGo:
A Delhi-based woman entrepreneur Kanika Tekiwal is a co-founder of JetSetGo. JetSetGo is a plane aggregator that manages, operates and flies planes for plane owners. Kanika Tekiwal calls her company “the uber of the skies”.
She hails from a Marwari family with “entrepreneurship in her blood”. She was assured enough from a younger age that she would be running a business of her own. In 2014 she started JetSetGo and now her name is placed among the world’s best entrepreneurs.
4. Upasana Taku, Mobikwik:
Upasana Taku is the co-founder of a private company named MOBIKWIK. Though a simple it was a very simple idea but the idea came from women businessman gave a great platform for online recharge.
Mobikwik has grown exceptionally well, it first launched in 2009 and In 2010, mobikwik hired its first employee.
5. Aditi Gupta, Menstrupedia
Aditi Gupta-co-founder of menstrupedia, the most popular name in menstrual hygiene. A girl from Jharkhand started Menstrupedia in the year 2013 to solve the problems and misunderstanding of menstruation.
Menstrupedia offers an illustrated friendly guide to provides essential information related to menstruation. The Menstrupedia Comics is available in 7 languages and in 30 schools in India. They also have blogs where people write and share their stories related to menstruation.
6. Falguni Nayar, Nykaa:
A Mumbai-based company was started in 2012 by Falguni Nayar who is a mother of two and fifty years old. Falguni was working as MD in Kotak Mahindra Capital Company but left her job and started an e-commerce site called Nykaa. Age is just a number, she proved it and now many women entrepreneurs are following her footprint.
It is a company which deals with beauty and wellness products having consumers from age group 22 to 35 years. Everyday Nykaa receives orders more than 15000 selling around 35000 products.
7. Rashmi Daga, Freshmenu:
Freshmenu was founded by Rashmi Daga in the year 2014. This was the first food-tech company in India which focuses on offering customers new menus. It takes orders online and delivered by its own team.
The objective of Rashmi was to serve the freshest food to customers including menus like keto-friendly, low carb-high protein and green veggies-salad meals. This unique business concept went viral among diet lovers. With more than 5,00,000 orders in a month, Freshmenu’s annual revenue goes around Rs.150 crores. The founder won ET-Facebook women ahead award in the year 2018.
8. Shradha Sharma, Yourstory:
Shradha Sharma, a chief editor, CEO and founder of Yourstory. Yourstory- a media platform for entrepreneurs and this unique idea of Sharma made her famous.
Shradha is from Patna who started her journey in the year 2008 with least support of family. Her thought that ‘everyone has a story to tell’ gave the biggest platform to Indians to share stories of entrepreneurs. 9. Vandana Luthra, VLCC:
Vandana Luthra, a woman entrepreneur and the founder of VLCC Health Care Ltd. VLCC a beauty and wellness company didn’t succeed overnight, its journey was started in 1989.
In 2013 Vandana has been awarded Padma Shri woman entrepreneur award also listed as the 33rd most powerful woman in business in India by Fortune India in the year 2015. She collaborated with cosmetologists, nutritionists, and doctors to create VLCC- One stop solution for weight loss and beauty treatment. Presently VLCC has more than 4000 professional staffs serving more than 5 millions consumers.
